الصديق هو الشخص الذي تربطكما علاقة وثيقة مبنية على المودة والحب والثقة بينكما، فالصديق الحقيقي هو من يبقى معك دائما مهما باعدت بينكما المسافات، هو الشخص الذي لم تلده أمك، فصديقك يتمنى لك الخير من أعماق قلبه يحبك في الله دون أيّ مصلحةٍ أخرى.

عندما تصف الصديق فإنك تحتاج إلى أسمى المعاني وأعظم المفردات، لأن الصداقة الحقيقة هى أسمى شئ في الوجود، ومن يمتلك صديق حقيقي لا تكفيه الكلمات ولا العبارات لشكره، ولكن هناك بعض الصفات جدير بالثقة، دافئ القلب، غفور ، مبتهج ، متفائل ، المتوفرة في الصديق الجيد ومنها :
محبوب ، ودود ، شجاع ، صادق معطاء ، مستمع جيد ، لطيف ، موثوق به ، متعاطف.

لا تنتقد أو تشتكي ، بل تعطي آراء صادقة، الحاجة إلى الابتسام ، وتذكر اسمها ، والاهتمام بصدق في الأشخاص الذين ترغب في تكوين صداقات معهم، أن يكون مستمعا جيدا ، وأن يجعلهم يتحدثون عن أنفسهم ، ثم يواصلون الحديث عن الأشياء التي تهمهم.
Dale Carnegie Wrote the Book, who was an American writer and lecturer of famous courses in self-improvement, called How to Win Friends and Influence People in 1937. In the book he explains how to handle people, make them like you, and how to influence them. He stresses the importance of:
Not criticizing or complaining, but giving honest opinions
The need to smile, remembering their name, and being sincerely interested in people with whom you want to make friends.
Being a good listener, getting them to talk about themselves, and then continuing the conversation about things that interest them.
وذكر أيضا كارنيجي بعض النصائح لتكون صديق جيد وتكون بداية صداقة جيدة، كان لدي كارنيجي العديد من الكلمات التي تصف الصداقة الجيدة، كما يظهر أهمية الموقف الإيجابي ، ويمكن أن يساعدك في تكوين صداقات. هذه أمثلة من حكمته.

وأخيرا ؛ لاختيار أفضل صديق، يجب اختياره بمرآة القلب، بعيداً عن مرآة العينين والمصالح المشتركة، ويجب أن يكون الوفاء والحب والإخلاص متبادلاً، لأن الصاحب هو انعكاسٌ لشخصية صديقه.
